Our Story

Our Story

Several years ago I had an opportunity to go with a group of ladies to share life and love with girls that had been rescued from human trafficking. It was the most amazing experience. The lives of those girls were forever changed just by us taking time with them. We shared with them the truth of God’s love, spoke encouraging words of life to them and celebrated their value and beauty. That’s when the seed for Beautiful Butterfly was planted.

Beautiful Butterfly has a 3-part focus: Celebrate, Cultivate and Rescue

Our goal is to empower and equip you to:

  •  Celebrate the beauty within
  • Cultivate beauty in others
  • Rescue the captives

CELEBRATE – Mass media has created a definition of beauty that’s based on superficial things such as make-up, the length of your hair, the color of your skin and your body figure. The truth is you don’t have to be a super model to look and feel beautiful. You’re beautiful because God made you. And no matter who you are or where you’re from, God made you beautiful.

CULTIVATE – We all have someone we can inspire, whether it is a friend, sister, mom, auntie, daughter, niece, cousin, grandmother, co-worker, mentor, neighbor…you name it. You have the power to impact the lives of those around you. Let them know they are special. Let them know they are beautiful. Show them that somebody cares.

Recently I received a gift from a family friend that was a “just because” gift. It wasn’t my birthday. It wasn’t a holiday. They just wanted to let me know that they thought I was special. The gift was 2 shirts and a card. And that gift made my day.

I once heard someone say if you surround yourself with beautiful things and wonderful teachers who inspire you, it brings out the beauty in you. We want to help you bring out the beauty in yourself and others, all while helping to set captives free.

RESCUE – With every purchase you make from Beautiful Butterfly, part of the proceeds go to organizations that are in the trenches combatting human trafficking and sexual abuse. Human trafficking is the 2 nd largest criminal business in the world, following the drug trade. And human traffickers most often target women and children (those who are vulnerable, lonely, homeless or looking for hope).

Together, you and I can be the change we long to see. I invite you to go on this journey with me, and let’s light up the world!
